FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
The new Station 1 was approved for occupancy the week of July 21st, 2020 with both the EMS and Fire departments now responding to calls out of the new facility. Completion of construction work occurred the first week of August when the last slabs of concrete were poured for the driveway.
Some of the benefits of the new station include a much larger equipment bay that now allows the department to house all of its equipment under one roof and a training tower that will provide various training opportunities, i.e. confined space, rappelling and high-level rescuer scenarios, with our mutual aid departments. In addition, a much larger training room is available that will serve not only the district and department but will be available to the public for meetings and other special gatherings. Expanded office space for both the district and department officers has also been included to allow a better means for running the day to day administrative responsibilities.
When asked how they felt about the new fire station, paramedics Zack Napoli and Brian Brinson, who were working their first shift at the new station, both replied “it’s a very nice facility, with lots of space to grow. It will serve the District well”. The new station will service the community for decades to come.
